How To Prepare Bread Upma

Delicious Bread UpmaBread upma.Yes I love this snack.I prepare it thrice every week and also give it to my neighbours.This is essentially a breakfast snack and is an improvisation of upma,a south-Indian snack.This post I have written everything to make Bread Upma all by yourself.I am damn sure that you too will love it.Just follow these steps and do try it at your home.

Ingredients

Bread slices (crumbled)5-6
Large Onion (chopped)1
Medium Tomato (chopped)1
Oil1/2 tablespoon
Green chillies (chopped)2-3 
Boiled Peas1/2 cup 
Almonds1 table spoon 
Curry leaves5-6 
Water200 ml 
AsafoetidaA pinch 
Salt to tasteDesired amount 
Pepper to tasteDesired amount 

Method

  • In a casserole, take 1/4 tbsp oil and roast crumbled bread pieces on HIGH power for 3-4 minutes. Till they turn pink in colour, keep on stirring.
  • Take another bowl and pour 1/4 tbsp oil and heat on HIGH power for 50 seconds.
  • To this add asafoetida, mustard seeds, curry leaves and microwave on HIGH power for 1 minute.
  • Now add onion, peas, chillies and tomatoes and cook on HIGH for 2 minutes.
  • Lastly add water, roasted crumbled bread, almonds, salt, pepper.Cook on HIGH power for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently.Serve with pudina chutney.
