Unsweetened Cocoa Powder | 2 table spoon |
Baking powder | 1 tea spoon |
Baking soda | 1/2 Tea spoon |
Salt | A pinch |
Oil | 1/3 Cup |
Egg | 1 |
Milk | 1/3 Cup |
Sugar/Equal | 1/3 Cup |
Figs & Dates to Garnish | Desired Amount |
Method:
- Grease the bottom of the round baking dish. Line it with waxed paper. Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, soda, and salt to make a mixture.
- In a mixer bowl, beat oil and sugar and 1/2 of above mixture. Beat till fluffy. Add egg and beat well.
- Add the other half of flour mixture and milk alternately to the mixture. Beat till just combined. Spread evenly on the greased dish.
- Sprinkle figs and dates on top. Cook uncovered on MEDIUM for 10-20 minutes, giving the dish a quarter turn every 3 minutes.
- If not done, cook on HIGH for 30 seconds to 2 minutes or till surface is nearly dry.
- Cool the dish on a wire rack for 5 minutes, remove and invert on rack. Remove waxed paper and cool.
- Decorate with fresh fruits before serving.
